Data Structure: Facies_definition |
|
Description |
Assigns material names to facies IDs. |
Usage |
Facies_definition NUM=ival where ival is the data structure number |
Description |
Overview In ParaGeo facies may be defined to allow flexibility in defining spatially variying material properties within a given ParaGeo group for evolutionary models (e.g. models with a geological time scale including sedimentation). In such context Facies_definition is used to assign material names to a list of facies ID numbers that then may be distributed within a Formation / ParaGeo group via a Spatial_grid. If Facies_definition is not defined the facies IDs are assumed to correspond to material numbers (e.g. Material with ID NUM =7 is assumed to be Facies NUM =7).
