To perform this exercise modify the porosity trend to impose an over-consolidated state in such a way that the porosity at each depth is 0.8 times the porosity on the Normal Compaction Trend (porosity in uniaxial burial under hydrostatic conditions). Because for a given depth the porosity will be lower than the expected for the current material under uniaxial burial and hydrostatic conditions, the pre-consolidation pressure will initialize with values larger than the vertical effective stress (overconsolidated state).
