Data Structure: Stratigraphy_basal_load |
Description |
Defines the loading associated with the top basal horizon |
Usage |
Stratigraphy_basal_load NUM=ival where ival is the data structure number |
Description |
Overview Stratigraphy_basal_load is used to define loading and boundary conditions associated with the basal horizon for the model. Basal load types include: •Basal temperature and thermal flux •Basal pore pressure and flow flux
Notes •One Stratigraphy_basal_load data structure is defined but it can be respecified for each stage. •When stratigraphy is defined and the porous flow field is active, pore pressure can be defined using either Stratigraphy_basal_load or the standard pore pressure loading keywords (see Global_loads) •When stratigraphy is defined and the thermal field is active, temperature can be defined using either Stratigraphy_basal_load or the standard thermal loading keywords (see Global_loads)

Pore_pressure Basal pore pressure |
Usage |
Description |
Defines the value of the basal pore pressure. This may be defined either as an instantaneous load or with a load curve assigned via Time_curve_pore. |
Flow_flux Basal flow flux |
Usage |
Description |
Defines the value of the basal flow flux. This may be defined either as an instantaneous load or with a load curve assigned via Time_curve_pore. |
Time_curve_pore Time curve for the basal pore pressure |
Usage |
Description |
Assigns a time curve that defines the variation of the Pore_pressure or Flow_flux as a function of time. If not defined the applied pore pressure or flow flux is applied as an instantaneous load.
Temperature Basal horizon temperature |
Usage |
Description |
Defines the prescribed basal horizon temperature. This may be defined either as an instantaneous load or with a load curve assigned using a time curve via Time_curve_temp.
Thermal_flux Basal thermal flux |
Usage |
Description |
Defines the value of the basal thermal flux. This may be defined either as an instantaneous load or with a load curve assigned via Time_curve_temp. |
Time_curve_temp Time curve for the basal horizon temperature |
Usage |
Description |
Assigns a time curve that defines the variation of the basal Temperature or Thermal_flux as a function of time. If not defined the applied temperature or thermal flux is applied as an instantaneous load.
Fault_load_flag Flag for applying basal loading to intersecting fault surfaces |
Usage |
Description |
Flag indicating that the basal surface loading should be applied to exposed fault surfaces that intersect the surface. Valid values are: • 0 - No loading applied to faults intersecting basal horizon (default) • 1 - Apply loading to faults exposed to basal horizon
