Data Structure: Util_fault_insertion |
Description |
Settings for generation of fault insertion data for restoration to forward analysis model creati |
Usage |
Util_fault_insertion NUM=ival where ival is the data structure number |
Description |
Overview Util_fault_insertion is used to specify the settings for generation of fault insertion data for restoration to forward analysis model creation.
Insertion_type Type of fault insertion |
Usage |
Description |
Defines the type of fault insertion, valid values are: • "Seeded" - Seeded fault, generate one geometry set per line . • "Split" - split geometry faults, group lines on same fault under same geometry set • "Mixed" - Mixture of seeding and splitting defined on an individual fault level
Units List of unit names |
Usage |
Description |
List of unit names where fault insertion should be performed (default all groups)
Faults List of fault sets |
Usage |
Description |
List of faults by name (name of Fault_set) to be used in fault insertion (default all faults)
Seeding_variables List of seeding variables |
Usage |
Description |
The allowable seeding variables is dependent on the model type and the simplest model is to specify either: • "P_strnv" - An initial value of volumetric plastic strain ("P_strnv") for the SR3, SR4 and Cam Clay models • "P_strn" - An initial value of effective plastic strain ("P_strn") for the Drucker-Prager model
In this case the initial strength will be reduced and defined by the hardening curve.
Notes •Only for Insertion_type "Seeded" and "Mixed"
Seeding_values Seeding values for fault |
Usage |
Description |
Defines the value of each seeding variable listed in Seeding_variables
Deposition_flag Flag denoting that newly deposited layers will be seeded/split |
Usage |
Description |
Flag denoting whether new defposited units will be seeded/split. Valid values are: • 0 - Do not seed/split newly deposited layers • 1 - Seed/split newly deposited layers
Initial_length_fact Fault extension factor for initial layer |
Usage |
Description |
Fault extension factor for the initial layer (default 1.0). If only part of the initial layer should be split (and thus have an internal fault tip) a factor less than 1.0 should be defined.
Deposition_length_fact Fault extension factor for deposited layers |
Usage |
Description |
Fault extension factor for deposited layers (default 1.0). If only part of the newly deposited layer should be split (and thus have an internal fault tip) a factor less than 1.0 should be defined.
Element_size Element size for the seeded faults (3D) |
Usage |
Description |
Element size for the seeded faults.
